OBJETIVO E ALCANCE |
A Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas / Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, editada pela Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas da Universidade de São Paulo, com periodicidade trimestral, tem por finalidade publicar Artigos originais relacionados com as áreas de conhecimento das Ciências Farmacêuticas. Publica também Trabalhos de atualização ou de revisão, que serão incluídos somente quando solicitados a especialistas pela Comissão de Publicações ou quando submetidos em forma de Abstract para avaliação quanto ao interesse, bem como Notas Prévias de trabalhos de investigação. Na seção de Publicações Novas compreende Resenhas elaboradas por especialistas segundo sugestão da Comissão de Publicações. Suplementos temáticos e aqueles relativos a eventos científicos podem ser publicados mediante aprovação prévia da Comissão de Publicações. Publica, também, contribuições de especialistas estrangeiros.

HISTÓRICO |
A origem da Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas remonta aos “Anais de Farmácia e Odontologia da USP”, iniciada em 1939. Em 1963, com o vol.1, teve início a “Revista da Faculdade de Farmácia e Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo”, que em 1970 recebeu o título de “ Revista de Farmácia e Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo”. Em 1999, foi totalmente reformulada recebendo a denominação de Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas / Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

CRITÉRIOS PARA A SELEÇÃO DOS TRABALHOS |
A publicação dos trabalhos dependerá da observância
das normas da Revista e da decisão da Comissão de Publicação,
após julgamento de, no mínimo, dois especialistas da área.
A submissão de um trabalho à Revista implica que o mesmo
não foi anteriormente publicado, como também não foi
enviado simultaneamente para publicação em outra revista.
Os trabalhos aceitos e publicados são de propriedade da Revista,
ficando os direitos autorais reservados à mesma.
Para a avaliação dos trabalhos, a Revista conta com especialistas
nacionais e estrangeiros que compõem seu Conselho Editorial e, ainda,
com vários outros especialistas, cujos nomes são apresentados
no último fascículo do ano.

A REVISTA
BRASILEIRA DE CIÊNCIAS FARMACÊUTICAS/Brazilian
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences tem
por finalidade publicar os seguintes tipos de publicação:
Artigos originais relacionados com as áreas de conhecimento das Ciências
Farmacêuticas; Trabalhos de atualização
ou de revisão, que serão incluídos quando solicitados a especialistas
pela Comissão de Publicações ou quando submetidos em forma de Abstract
para avaliação quanto ao interesse. Ressalta-se a
necessidade de se incluir visão crítica dos autores, inserindo os seus
trabalhos no tema e avaliando-os em relação ao estado de arte no País;
Notas Prévias relativas a novas
metodologias e resultados parciais, cuja originalidade justifique a publicação
rápida. Nesse caso, o limite é de 2.000 palavras, excluindo-se, tabelas,
figuras e referências. Pode-se
incluir, no máximo, uma figura,uma tabela e
10 referências podem
ser incluídas; Resenhas
elaboradas por especialistas segundo sugestão da Comissão de Publicações. Suplementos temáticos e aqueles relativos a eventos científicos
podem ser publicados mediante aprovação prévia da Comissão de Publicações.
Os trabalhos elaborados por especialistas nacionais e estrangeiros podem ser
apresentados em língua portuguesa, inglesa ou espanhola. Devem ser originais e
inéditos e destinar-se exclusivamente à REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE CIÊNCIAS FARMACÊUTICAS/
Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical
Sciences. Os
manuscritos submetidos à Revista que atenderem as “Instruções aos
autores” são encaminhados ao Editor Científico,
que indicará dois
revisores especialistas no tema abordado. Após a revisão, cujo caráter anônimo
é mantido durante todo o processo, os manuscritos são enviados à Comissão de
Publicação, que decidirá sobre a publicação e manuscritos recusados, passíveis
de reformulação, poderão ser re-submetidos após reestruturação, como novo
trabalho, iniciando outro processo de avaliação. Manuscritos condicionados à
reestruturação serão reavaliados pelos revisores. Manuscritos enviados aos
autores para revisão devem retornar à Editoria dentro de, no máximo, dois
meses, caso contrário terão o processo encerrado.
Todas as revisões
dos manuscritos deverão ser acompanhadas de carta especificando as alterações
efetuadas no documento original. Essas mudanças devem também ser indicadas
diretamente no manuscrito.
Manuscritos aceitos
e publicados são de propriedade da Revista, ficando os direitos autorais a ela
reservados. A declaração de responsabilidade e transferência dos direitos
autorais será encaminhada juntamente com a prova final do artigo, devendo
retornar no prazo estipulado.
| PREPARAÇÃO DOS ORIGINAIS | |
| ESTRUTURA | |
| Cabeçalho: constituído
por: Título do trabalho, que
deve ser breve e indicativo da exata finalidade do trabalho; Autor(es)
por extenso, indicando a(s) instituição(ões) a(s) qual(is)
pertence(m) mediante números. O autor para correspondência deve ser
identificado com asterisco, fornecendo o endereço completo, incluindo o
eletrônico. Estas informações devem
constar em notas de rodapé. |

| Resumo (em português):
deve apresentar a condensação do conteúdo, expondo metodologia,
resultados e conclusões, não excedendo 200 palavras. Os
membros da Comissão poderão auxiliar autores que não são fluentes em
português. |
|
| Unitermos: devem
representar o conteúdo do artigo, evitando-se
os de natureza genérica. Observar o limite máximo de 6(seis) unitermos. |
|
| Introdução: deve estabelecer com clareza o objetivo do trabalho e sua relação com outros trabalhos no mesmo campo. Extensas revisões de literatura devem ser substituídas por referências aos trabalhos bibliográficos mais recentes, nos quais tais revisões tenham sido apresentadas. | |
| Material e Métodos: a descrição
dos métodos usados deve ser breve, porém suficientemente clara para
possibilitar a perfeita compreensão e repetição do trabalho.
Processos e Técnicas já publicados, a menos que tenham sido
extensamente modificados, devem ser apenas referidos por citação.
Estudos em humanos e em animais devem fazer referência à aprovação
do Comitê de Ética correspondente. |

| Resultados e Discussão: deverão ser apresentados de forma concisa e em ordem lógica. Tabelas ou figuras, quando possível, devem substituir o texto, na apresentação dos dados. Sempre que pertinente, forneça as faixas, desvios padrão e indique as significâncias das diferenças entre os valores numéricos obtidos. A discussão deve se restringir ao significado dos dados obtidos e resultados alcançados, procurando, sempre que possível, relacionar sua significância em relação a trabalhos anteriores da área. Especulações que não encontram justificativa para os dados obtidos devem ser evitadas. É facultativa a apresentação desses itens em separado. | |
| Conclusões: Quando pertinentes, devem ser fundamentadas no texto. | |
| Resumo em inglês (ABSTRACT):
deve ser antecedido do título do artigo em inglês e acompanhar o conteúdo
do resumo em português. |

| Agradecimentos: devem constar
de parágrafo à parte, antecedendo as referências bibliográficas, e
ser compatíveis com as exigências de cortesia e divulgação. |

Referências bibliográficas: devem ser
organizadas de acordo com as normas da Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas
- ABNT NBR-6023, ordenadas alfabeticamente no fim do artigo incluindo
os nomes de todos os autores. A
exatidão das referências bibliográficas é de responsabilidade dos

| Apresentação dos originais | |
|
Os trabalhos
devem ser apresentados em lauda padrão (de 30 a 36 linhas com espaço
duplo) em três vias e disquete 31/2" alta densidade,
utilizando o programa Word for Windows, ou, preferencialmente, on
line, na página http//:www.rbcf.br. Os trabalhos devem ser acompanhados
de ofício assinado pelos autores. A versão
definitiva do trabalho aceito deverá ser enviada por via eletrônica (http//:www.rbcf.br).
Cópias impressas também serão aceitas. |

| Informações adicionais | |
|
Citação bibliográfica: As citações
bibliográficas devem ser apresentadas no texto pelo(s) nome(s) do(s)
autor(es), em letras maiúsculas, seguidas do ano de publicação. No caso
de haver mais de três autores, citar o primeiro e acrescentar a expressão et al. Caso haja mais de uma citação com mesmos autores e mesmo
ano de publicação, diferencia-las com letras minúsculas junto ao ano. |

Ilustrações: As ilustrações
(gráficos, tabelas, fórmulas químicas, equações, mapas, figuras,
fotografias, etc) devem ser incluídas no texto, o mais próximo possível
das respectivas citações. Mapas, figuras e fotografias devem ser, também,
apresentados em arquivos separados e escaneadas em alta resolução(800 dpi/bitmap para traços) com
extensão tif. e/ou bmp. No caso de não ser possível a entrega do arquivo
eletrônico das figuras, os originais devem ser enviados em papel vegetal ou
impressora a laser. Ilustrações
coloridas somente serão publicadas mediante pagamento pelos autores. As
tabelas devem ser numeradas consecutivamente em algarismos romanos e as
figuras em algarimos arábicos, seguidos do título. As palavras TABELA e
FIGURA devem aparecer em maiúsculas apenas no título ou na legenda,
respectivamente. Legendas e títulos devem acompanha-las nos arquivos
separados, assim como no texto. |

Nomenclatura: pesos,
medidas, nomes de plantas, animais e substâncias químicas devem estar de
acordo com as regras internacionais de nomenclatura. A grafia dos nomes de fármacos
deve seguir, no caso de artigos nacionais, as Denominações Comuns
Brasileiras (DCB) em vigor, podendo ser mencionados uma vez (entre parênteses,
com inicial maiúscula) os registrados. |

AIM AND SCOPE |
The Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas / Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences edited
quately by the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences –
University of São Paulo, gives priority to the publication of Original Articles of Pharmaceutical Sciences. It also publishes short communications, Technical Notes and
Book Reviews. By request of the Editorial Board Review Articles will be accepted for publication. Also these articles can be previousey submitted in abstract form
to evaluate the interest in publishing.
The provision of up-to-date information on the latest advances areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of the main services that RBCFUSP offers to its readers.
Contributions written by foreign specialists are also accepted.

HISTORICAL |
The Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas / Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences has its origin in the “Anais de Farmácia e Odontologia da USP”, which began on 1939. The volume 1 of the Revista da Faculdade de Farmácia e Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo”. In 1999, it was totally remodeled and named as Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas / Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF PAPERS |
Each manuscript is analysed by the Editorial Board and assessed by two referees. Their assessment is submitted to the Editorial Board, who decides for the
acceptance, rewriting or rejection. National and foreign experts in Pharmaceuticals Sciences serve as advisors to the Editorial Board. Other specialists, besides this
permanent body, participate in the selection process. Their names are listed in the last issue of each volume.
Portuguese is the official language of the RBCF although contributions written in English or Spanish will be also
considered.
Manuscripts must be in accordance with “Intructions to Contributors”, which appear at the end of each
issue.
They must be sent on diskette and with two printed copies to the Scientific Editor, to the attention of Divisão de Biblioteca e Documentação do Conjunto das
Químicas.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS |
The Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences/Revista
Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas accepts for publication Original
Papers applicable to the fields of Pharmaceutical Sciences;
Reviews and
Current Comment Articles,
which are published under the
Editorial Board invitation to recognized experts or when they are spontaneously
submitted by the authors in the form of abstracts to have their importance
evaluated. A critical
vision of the subject with insertions
of results of previous works in the field in relation to the state of the art in
the country must be included;
Short Communications reporting
new methods and previews of works on researches of outstanding importance in
which originality justify a quick
publication. A maximum of 2000 words excluding tables, figures and references is
an acceptable limit. One table, one
figure and ten references may be added, and Book
Reviews of the latest editions, prepared by specialists invited by the
Editorial Board. Thematic Supplements as well as those related to scientific meetings
can be published under the
Editorial Board agreement.
Manuscripts can be submitted by either Brazilian or foreign specialists written in
one of the following languages: Portuguese, English or Spanish.
A manuscript is accepted with the understanding that the material has not
been previously published, except in abstract form, and that it is not
simultaneously under consideration by any other journal. All manuscripts
submitted to Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences
/ Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas that follow the instructions
to authors are subject to peer review by two or more independent,
anonymous referees chosen by the Scientific Editor. Additional opinions are
sought by the Scientific Editor when there are substantial differences between
reviewers. After being reviewed all manuscripts are forwarded to the Editorial
Board for a final decision. Rejected manuscripts may be resubmitted for
consideration without any reference to the previous submission as a new manuscript after being
properly and significantly restructured. If revision is necessary, the
authors are asked to resubmit the
dated, revised manuscript incorporating the suggestions and recommendations of
the referees within two months. Revisions not received within two months
from the date of notice will have its process canceled. All revisions
must be accompanied with a letter detailing the changes made to the
original document; changes should also be indicated directly on the
manuscript. Revisions may be re-reviewed at the discretion of the Scientific
Editor. Papers accepted for
publication will have their copyright assigned to the REVISTA.
A copyright transfer form will be sent to the authors for signature together
with the final proof of the paper.

| Structure | ||
| Title Page: This should include the manuscript full title (it must be brief providing exact information of the contents), authors’ full names, institutional affiliations (University, College, Department). Give as a foot-note the name, full address including E-mail of the corresponding author identified with an asterisk. | ||
| Summary (in Portuguese): On a separate page, provide a summary of not more than 200 words. It must be structured and consist of four parts. Each part of the structured summary should concisely and specifically describe the objectives of the study, techniques used, the essential results and what the authors concluded from the results. | ||
| Uniterms: These should be strictly related to the contents and limited to 6 ( six). | ||
| lntroduction: This should state briefly and clearly the objectives
of the investigation with reference to previous works. Extensive review
of the literature should be avoided and substitute for references of
recent publications where such reviews may be found. |

| Material and Methods: These should be described in sufficient detail that the work can be reproduced.
Procedures and techniques readily
available in the literature require only a citation of the original
source, except when they
are substantially modified. Reports of experimental studies on humans
and animals must certify that the research received prior approval by
the appropriate
institutional review body (Committee of Bioethics). |

| Results and Discussion: Results must be presented concisely and in logical order. Where possible use figures or
tables to present data rather than text. When appropriate
give the range, standard deviation
and indicate the significances of differences between numerical values
obtained. Discussion should interpret the results and assess
their significance in
relation to previous work in the field. Speculation not warranted
by actual data should be avoided. Presenting those items
separately is optional. |

| Conclusions: These must be drawn from the text and restricted to
the limits of data obtained |

| Abstract in Portuguese: It should be preceded by the title in Portuguese. This
should follow the same content
of the summary presented in English. Members of the Editorial Board can
kindly assist those
authors not fluent in the Portuguese language. |

| Acknowledgments: These should be typed in a special paragraph under
separate heading
preceding the section of References. They should be kept to a
minimum consistent with the requirements of courtesy and disclosure. |

| References: They should be prepared and listed according to
The Brazilian Association of
Technical Standards (ABNT.NBR 6023). Entries should be arranged
in alphabetical order by author at the end of the paper. All
authors’ names should be given. “Accuracy of reference data is the

Manuscripts should
be sent in three copies, in an
official/regular sheet of paper (30-36 lines, double spaced) in the Word
for Windows program or preferentially on line via http//:www.rbcf.br. All
submissions must be accompanied with a letter signed by the authors.
Revista requires that the accepted
final corrected copy of each manuscript be submitted
electronically (on micro floppy
disk or
via http//:www.rbcf.br). Traditional paper version is also accepted.. |

| Additional lnformations | ||
|
Text citations: References should be cited in text by the
authors’ names,(initial in capital
letters), followed by the year of publication. For more than two
authors, the first one is cited followed by the expression et al. (in italics). |
||
|
Illustrations: Graphs, tables, chemical formulas, equations, maps,
figures, photos etc must be included in the text immediately after being
cited. Maps, figures and photos must be
presented also in separate sheets of paper as clear, black and white,
original positives suitable for reproduction. Glossy prints or
high-resolution (800dpi/bit map for
traces) with tif and/or bmp extension are preferred. When figures are not
possible to be sent electronically they must be printed in laser or in
vegetal paper. Colored illustrations are accept under author’s expenses. Tables
should be numbered consecutively in Roman numerals and Figures in Arabic,
followed by their titles. The word TABLE and FIGURE should appear in capital
letters in the title or in the legend, but not in the text. Legends should
accompany them as well as be present in the text. |

Nomenclature: unities of weight and measurements, names of
plants, animals and chemicals should be mentioned according to
International Rules available. For national manuscripts names
of drugs must follow the current Denominações Comuns Brasileiras(DCB).
Trade marks may be mentioned only once in the text (between parenthesis and
initial in capital letter). |
